Rural Mutual Insurance Introduces Customer Personal Auto Relief Program

We pride ourselves in being knowledgeable about our local Wisconsin communities and neighborhoods. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused uncertainty and financial challenges for everyone. What is certain, is the fact that we have received fewer personal auto insurance claims, as a result of vehicles being driven less the past month.  Rural Mutual Insurance Company will be refunding to current, active policyholders 15% on two months of personal auto premium as of March 31, 2020.

This, in combination with our Farm Dividend Program, will return approximately $3.5 million dollars to our customers in 2020 to help support our local communities.  Since Rural Mutual Insurance Company only does business in Wisconsin, our monetary support will go directly to helping local families, farmers and businesses in Wisconsin.

If you currently have an outstanding amount due on your auto policy, we will be applying the refund to that outstanding amount. If your account is paid in full and you do not use our electronic withdrawal payment method, you will receive a refund check within the next 10 business days. No action is needed by our customers.

“We are fortunate to be in a position to give back to our customers in a time when they need us most,” says Executive Vice President and CEO Dan Merk.  “You don’t often see insurance companies give premiums back in the form of a refund, but I think many in the industry are stepping up and realizing this is the right thing to do.”

If you have additional questions, please reach out to your Rural Mutual agent directly or contact our Customer Support Specialists at 1-877-219-9550.
