Rural Mutual Makes Monumental Commitment to Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Centennial $100,000 Campaign

Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation kicked off a fundraising campaign in honor of the organization’s centennial celebration. The campaign aims to raise $100,000 for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation by December 2020.  

Rural Mutual Insurance recently committed to matching all donations ($1-10,000) up to the $100,000. They will match all previous donations to the campaign which are currently nearing $40,000.  

“Rural Mutual is committed to helping and supporting our Wisconsin farmers. We’re fortunate to have such strong financial strength that we can support Farm Bureau’s initiatives and the next generation of agriculturists.” said Dan Merk, Rural Mutual Executive Vice President and CEO. 

Farm Bureau Uses Donations for Education, Youth Programs and More 

The WFBF Foundation funds a variety of agricultural education and leadership programs to encourage and cultivate agriculture education across the entire state of Wisconsin. One of the most notable is the state’s Agriculture in the Classroom program. Ag in the Classroom provides teachers and their students with an understanding of how their food is produced. The Foundation also supports the Young Farmers and Agriculturist Programdesigned for members ages 18-35 to help them get to know Farm Bureau and other members in their area, and the Promotion and Education Programdesigned to encourage members to implement activities that build agricultural awareness. Other programs they support include WFBF Leadership InstituteWisconsin Cranberry Discover Centeralong with the 4-H Key Awards, 4-H Foundation, FFA Farm Forum and FFA Discussion Meet. 

Rural Mutual Insurance is an affiliate of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, the state’s largest general farm organization representing farms of all sizes, commodities and management styles.
